Continuation of homepage: … About our experience: After three years of intensively searching for a suitable project in the Kingdom of Lesotho in Southern Africa (see also: Lesotho) we believe that our approach of searching and finding has stood the test. We were looking for a suitable project which would already have an existing family and community system, which we would then strengthen and make even more viable for the future.

We thus build upon on a solid, experienced fundament. The community’s founder and at the same time its »strong leader with a heart« is Mrs Mamello Mokholokoe and her entire team. This non-profit organization is called Phelisanong, which translates to »We live together for life!«

Our project Phelisanong

Since April 2014 we strength the Community Based Organisation Phelisanong (pronounced Phe-di-sah-nang)  close to Pitseng in the nord western area of Lesotho. At the moment in Phelisanong there live approx. 325 people, thereunder 180 orphants and half-orphants. Some of them are physically  or psychologically disabled. Many of them are infected with the HI-Virus.

The community consits of nine houses constructed in the typically basotho style for the accommodation, one school and a medical facility. Phelisanong was founded 2002 from Mamello Mokholokoe and her team.

»Wir sind gemeinsam auf dem Weg« habe ich für unser diesjähriges Motto mit unserer Familiengemeinde »Phelisanong« in Pitseng / Lesotho ausgewählt! Die Tatsache, dass mein Trainer-Kollege Rainer Kirschnick mich in diesem Jahr zum 2. Mal nach Phelisanong begleitet hat und mit seinem persönlichen »Geburtstags-Schatz« anrückte, brachte viele in unserer Gemeinschaft zum Schmunzeln. Ganze 6.500 € kamen an seinem 50. Geburtstag als Sammlung für Phelisanong zusammen, einschließlich seiner »Überkilo« von Second-Hand-Ware für die Babys, Kleinkinder und Jugendlichen... Lesen Sie hier weiter.

    Rainer Kirschnick brought again second hand clothes from Germany to Phelisanong. Me Mamello is personally looking to find for each piece the fitting child. She enjoys these moments of happiness even if she has a full calendar.

»Das war echt MUTIG«, denke ich öfters im Nachhinein.

Zum EINEN hätte es auch ganz schön schief gehen können, einem Senior-Berater-Kollegen aus Deutschland das Land und die Menschen in Lesotho so schmackhaft gemacht zu haben. Doch Rainer Kirschnick machte tatsächlich ERNST. Kurz nachdem ich, Alexander Wright, meinen Flieger für Johannesburg und Maseru gebucht hatte, kam die Antwort. »ICH AUCH«. Tja, und dann gab es kein Zurück mehr…

Zum ANDEREN ist es in der Tat GUT AUSGEGANGEN, unser erstes Experiment: Einen »freiwilligen Helfer« (oft auch „Senior-Volontär“ oder "Volunteer" genannt) zu motivieren, der auf eigene Kosten als 5-wöchiger Begleiter, Berater und Sparringspartner fungiert, um dazu noch ein bis dato unklares Projekt und deren Menschen zu begleiten.
